Welcome!

IMG_0626Welcome to the Circle of Generations!  This is where you will find the writings of Carolyn Lee Boyd that honor women’s history, envision the future, and celebrate those who are making a better world happen right now.  It is the “attic” of my “home” here on the web, where you will find both mementoes of the past and a skylight to look up into the sky and dream of the future.

The symbol of the page is the flower you see on the left.   The blossom is a wheel, an ancient symbol of the Wheel of Life, turning throughout time as life, death, and rebirth create the generations.  The butterfly is, of course, a symbol of transformation, just as we transform our world for a better future for our descendants.

This is one of a circle of pages of my writings and blog posts that, together, make up my “house,” which you are very welcome to wander in to your heart’s content.  You may wish to start at Goddess In a Teapot, which is like the kitchen door of the house where you can come sit and catch up.  It is the place where you will find all the newest blog posts, news about my writings and publications, and tea recipes.

You may then want to stop in at The Muse’s Cave, or the “library,” which has writings about creativity and some posts about creative women you should know about.

The Sanctuary Within is the underground cavern where you will find writings about spirituality, inluding pieces about Goddesses and myths, and a little about my novel of the same name.

Step outside into The Grove of the Queen Pine, my “garden,” to read pieces about nature and celebrating the seasons.

All of the other places come together here, in The Circle of Generations, where spirituality, creativity, and a love for our Earth all have a part in the creation of a future we want for our descendants.

Each place has pages where you can add in your thoughts and stories to make the circle of pages a community rather than just a group of blogsites.

So, let me welcome you to my “attic”!  Go to The Past to read a little women’s history, to Now to be inspired by real women working to make a difference, and to The Future for some pieces about envisioning a better world to come for us all. Then, go on over to Your Say to tell your own stories and visions for the future.

The photo is of a recreation of a statue (about 3600 BCE) of a sleeping woman, possibly a priestess or devotee in pursuit of a healing or divining dream, found in Malta. She is napping on this page because she is of the past, but maybe dreaming of the future (maybe even our present!)
